Directions:
1. In the Scholarly Project, the student will utilize the approved research question:
In adolescents (P) how does social media (I) influence eating disorders ?(O)
2. Throughout the assignment, the student will demonstrate knowledge of the existing literature related to the research topic.
3. The following sections will be included in Part 2 of the assignment:
A Title: The influence of social on eating disorders among adolescents.
1. Clear and concise title reflective of the scholarly project focus. ( Please see A above)
B Critique of the Literature
1. Based on the faculty approved studies included Literature Matrix ( FIND SAME ATTACHED)
2. Briefly describe the critique process. Include listing the study designs and tools used
such as checklists (be sure to cite appropriately) and how you assessed and evaluated the
studies for quality and rigor. Describe how you determined which studies to use in the
review based on the results of the critique.
3. This section should be written as a summary of the critique process and not a
description of each individual study or article.
C. Synthesis of the Literature
1. Demonstrates a strong grasp of the knowledge of the existing literature in the research
area of interest by synthesizing and integrating selected articles by following the steps
below:
a. Identify common themes and principles from the required number of studies
examined
b. Highlight findings that are congruent
c. Note differences and distinctions among studies examined
D Gaps in the Literature
1. What are the missing pieces or insufficient evidence related to your PIO question or
phenomenon of interest? For example, when you searched the databases was there a lack
of quantitative studies or a limited number of studies related to your phenomenon of
interest? Were there several limitations in the studies that you found?
E. References
1. All papers are to meet the scholarly standards set forth for graduate students and are
required to follow APA 7th ed. guidelines.
4. The minimum length requirement of the paper is 6 pages.

Refer to the information included in the attached appraisal worksheets . See the bottom of each worksheet for the overall summary and appraisal of the respective studies. Review all of your worksheets that highlight the overall summary and appraisal of each study and summarize this information.
Repeat this process for the qualitative studies and then repeat the process for the systematic reviews and meta-analyses.
