Describe the four different parenting styles and their associated influences on child development. Apply this to your own experience as a child and your own general development. Provide examples of the parenting style(s) you experienced and your perception of how it influenced your development. Also, discuss the type of physical punishment (if any) that you experienced. In hindsight, do you feel your punishments were appropriate, excessive or unreasonable? Summarize the arguments against using physical punishment on children and explain your position as a parent or future parent regarding the use of physical punishment.
