The prompt: You should also pay particular attention to why the US, unlike all other wealthy liberal democracies, allows or tolerates so much social and economic insecurity among its citizens. In other words, why is the prevailing American social contract so much less generous than the others? The answers are complex but the threads are in the lecture.
