For this assignment, you are required to interpret HR data presented in the Excel file entitled:

. Please note that while analyzing the data is essential, you are also required to provide two screenshots (JPG, PNG, or PDF file) that show the formulas or calculations you used to answer two of the questions.

Although you are required to answer all of the questions, you only need to provide screenshots for the question categories related to your name.

  • Last Name (S-Z): Provide screenshots of formulas/calculations used to answer the Demographic and Employment Trends.

Failure to include these screenshots of your Excel work will result in a significant loss of points.

For Part One of this assignment, you must answer 16 questions related to the data. These questions focus on various HR-related topics (e.g., turnover analysis, salary and demographic comparisons, performance metrics, compensation insights, etc.).

Turnover Analysis

  • What is the employee turnover rate for the organization based on the date of hire and date of termination?
  • What is the average length of employment (in years) for terminated employees?

Salary and Demographic Comparison

  • What is the average salary by department?
  • Is there a pay gap based on sex or race? Provide mean salary comparisons.

Performance and Compensation

  • Is there a correlation between performance scores and salary?
  • What is the average salary of employees with high performance scores (e.g., 4 or 5) compared to lower performers?

Engagement and Retention

  • What is the average engagement score of employees who were terminated voluntarily versus those who are still employed?
  • Among employees who have stayed longer than 3 years, what is their average employee satisfaction score?

Recruitment Effectiveness

  • Which recruitment source has the highest average performance score?
  • Which recruitment source has the lowest turnover rate?

Absenteeism and Satisfaction

  • What is the average number of absences by department?
  • Is there a relationship between employee satisfaction and absences?

Managerial Impact

  • What is the average performance score of employees by manager?
  • Which manager has the lowest average turnover among their team?

Demographic and Employment Trends (Need Screenshots of calculations)

  • What percentage of the workforce is Hispanic/Latino, and how does their average salary compare to non-Hispanic/Latino employees?
  • What is the average age (calculated from DOB) of employees by department?

Following your analysis, in Part Two, you are required to answer various questions based on your interpretation of the results. In your written responses, you must incorporate a minimum of four scholarly sources to support your rationale and recommendations.

  • Based on Organization BDs turnover rate and reasons for termination, what retention strategies would you recommend? Why?
  • If voluntary terminations are high in a specific department, what managerial, cultural, or compensation factors could be influencing these voluntary terminations?

  • In departments with high levels of absences, how might HR assess if these absences are due to poor management, burnout, or lack of flexibility?
  • What policies or wellness programs could Organization BD implement to reduce absenteeism? Why do you recommend these specific policies or programs?

Last Name (O-R)

  • If certain racial or demographic groups are underrepresented or underpaid, what DEIB strategies could HR implement? Why?
  • How can HR determine if promotions and career development opportunities are distributed equitably?

  • If employees with low engagement scores also had high absence rates or were more likely to leave, how might the HR Department enhance employee engagement?
  • What programs, policies, or surveys might be used to continuously monitor and improve employee satisfaction?

Submission Guidelines

  • Your paper should be 4-6 pages in length, not including the required cover page, references page, and appendix.
  • Include the two (2) screenshots of your Excel work in an appendix of your paper. These do not count towards the page count.
  • Your paper must be formatted according to APA guidelines.
  • Your justification must be supported by at least 3 scholarly sources (e.g., peer-reviewed journal articles).
  • All sources must be published from 2022 to the present.
  • All references must be cited in the text and listed on the references page, according to APA formatting.
