Older Adult Life Review Paper

This assignment involves conducting a thorough life review interview with an older adult to better understand aging across the lifespan. Through guided, respectful dialogue, students will explore key life events, roles, relationships, strengths, and challenges that have shaped the individuals health, identity, and well-being. Emphasis is placed on listening without judgment and recognizing how social determinants of healthsuch as culture, socioeconomic status, access to care, trauma, and support systemsinfluence life experiences and aging outcomes. This activity supports person-centered, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive nursing care while strengthening communication, empathy, and clinical judgment skills essential for practice with older adults.
