oce project

  1. Please do not post any picture just because it looks cute. All pictures, photos, diagrams, graphs, maps should be discussed in your presentation. All diagrams must have a caption and the reference (i.e., the source from where the diagram was picked) next to the diagram and explanation. Do not cut and paste an infographic and expect the professor will read it and understand it. Every diagram (including infographics) should be perfectly legible — please make sure the font or resolution are not too small to be legible.
  2. The project will be graded chiefly on the depth, extent and completeness of your research. Your first sources would be your text book and references there, wikipedia (and the references and links there in) and google search.

College Expectation:

Critically analyze policy effectiveness and cite government or academic sources.

It should be comprehensive — examine all aspects of the topic (scientific, social, moral, economical, political and other aspects– but please do not think that these are required section headings that you must include in your presentation). You should also look into the problem from the view points of all the stake holders: for example in a hypothetical project on the effects of Navy Sonar, you not only discuss Navy Sonar, you should discuss arguments both for and against and try to represent viewpoints of Navy, fishermen, tourism industry, general citizen, animal rights etc). For each of the topic you must propose a solution or future course of action.

Use textbook, Wikipedia + references, Google, papers
