Use your class time to go to the location to conduct the observation activity. Decide on a time frame. Observations need to last at least an hour (60 minutes) and should occur at the locations busiest time. Pick a specific behavior to observe. (ex.: number of people going to a specific exhibit; number of people drinking a beverage; how long people take at a certain exhibit; people in groups vs. people not in groups doing a specific thing, etc.) Prior to beginning the observation and after a specific behavior has been selected, determine a hypothesis. For example, if the behavior being observed is families going to the Giraffe Feeding Platform, the hypothesis may be If interactiveness is related to family exhibit attendance, then there will be more families at the Giraffe Feeding Platform than individuals or couples. Next record the behaviors on the form provided and answer the questions that follow. Be sure to turn in the completed form
