Your final course assignment requires you to connect the dots of each lesson in this course to create an Annotated Bibliography. This project will engage your critical thinking skills and meta-cognitive analysis of information that you have discovered on your topic to support your thesis.

You will create an annotated bibliography based on the theory you selected in Week 4. Your annotated bibliography must include five (5) quality academic sources that directly support, explain, or analyze your chosen theory. Journal articles must be published within the last 5 years, while books or book chapters may be published within the last 10 years. All entries must be formatted according to APA 7th edition guidelines.

If done correctly, you will have the beginnings of your NUR3825 theory paper.

You will submit:

  1. A properly formatted APA annotated bibliography (with title page)
  2. PDF copies of all five academic sources

Requirements

1. Title Page (APA 7 format)

)

  • page number
  • Title of your paper

  • Institution
  • Course number and name
  • Instructor
  • Due date

2. Five Quality Academic Sources

  • Scholarly books or book chapters

  • What the study examined
  • Author credentials: are they an expert? If so, how do you know?
  • Publication venue
  • Strengths or limitations

3. Connection to Your Theory

This section must include two specific explanations:

  • What in the source directly relates to the theory?
  • Identify specific ideas, definitions, concepts, historical context, evidence, or arguments that clearly tie to your chosen theory. Provide a screenshot in the text of your annotated bibliography of at least one example of this connection, then paraphrase the article in your own words. Make sure to include an accurate in-text citation for your paraphrase.
  • What unique information does this source provide?
  • Explain what this source contributes that the other sources do not. Provide a screenshot of the specific text in your annotated bibliography with at least one example of a unique contribution and paraphrase the text in your own words. Make sure to include an accurate in-text citation for your paraphrase.
  • (Examples: a different perspective, data set, critique, historical background, application of the theory, or theoretical extension.)

This part should clearly demonstrate how and why the source supports your understanding of the theory.

5. PDFs of Sources

Upload a PDF of each source along with your annotated bibliography.

Each PDF must include the full text of the article or chapter.

For print or ebooks where the full-text is not available, you must upload a document with screenshots or photographs of the title page and the first page of the chapter you will use.
