The article should be from a professional nursing or healthcare journal and should relate to a topic that is meaningful to your practice or educational focus.

Discussion Instructions

This discussion is designed to help us get to know one another while engaging in a scholarly conversation about current issues in health care. As graduate nursing students, you bring diverse experiences and perspectives from various practice settings. Sharing your insights will enrich our collective understanding and broaden our awareness of the challenges and opportunities facing the healthcare system today.

We will use the TQE methodThoughts, Questions, and Epiphaniesto guide our discussion. This approach encourages deeper reflection and meaningful dialogue. More information about the TQE method is available in a separate section of Module 1.

Your Initial Post Should Include:

1. Introduction
   • Briefly introduce yourself to your classmates.
   • What name do you prefer?
   • Where are you in your nursing career, and where do you see yourself in the future?
   • Are you in the nurse education, administration, or another graduate track?
   • What are your hopes for this course?
2. Article Summary and Relevance
   • Select a current article (published within the past 2 years) that addresses a healthcare issue relevant to your practice or educational goals.
   • Summarize the articles key points and explain why this issue is important to you.
   • Highlight anysocial, economic, or political factorsdiscussed in the article.
3. TQE Reflection
   • Thoughts: What stood out to you in the article? What connections can you make to your own experiences or observations in practice?
   • Questions: What questions did the article raise for you? What would you like your classmates to consider or respond to?
   • Epiphanies: Did anything surprise you or shift your thinking? Were there any themes, quotes, or insights that prompted deeper reflection?
4. Strategy for Improvement
   • Propose a strategy or solution to address the issue discussed in your article.
   • Be sure to consider and incorporate asocial, economic, or political dimensionin your proposed approach.
