For this assignment, you will develop each of the following in a Word document:

Two (2) measurable learning objectives for your test

Ten (10) NCLEX-RN style questions with rationales (explanations)

Test blueprint indicating question alignment with NCSBNs NCLEX-RN categories and Blooms Taxonomy levels for each question

For this assignment, you are not writing a formal APA paper; however, a reference page is required to show sources used in question development.

1. Develop 2 learning objectives for your test following the guidelines for objective writing posted in the course. Each objective must be measurable.

2. Using your class resources and guidelines below develop a 10-item NCLEX-RN style test for second-year Associate or senior year Bachelor degree nursing students. Follow these guidelines:

a. You may use any concepts/topics that would be taught to a second / senior year nursing student.

b. Five (5) of your 10 questions are to be multiple-choice format questions

i. With these 5 questions, each question will have a stem, 1 key, and 3 plausible distractors.

c. Five (5) of your 10 questions are to be a combination of multiple response (select all that apply [SATA]) and alternate format questions (all must be NCLEX-RN format).

i. Review NCSBNs test plan for approved alternate format question types, examples, and guidance on question formatting prior to writing your test questions.

ii. Do NOT write any Next Generation NCLEX (NGN) style questions.

d. Five (5) of your 10 questions are to be written at the remember and understand levels of Blooms Taxonomy.

e. Five (5) of your 10 questions are to be written at the apply and analyze levels of Blooms Taxonomy to prepare students for success on the NCLEX-RN test and to develop critical thinking.

3. Develop clear, thorough rationales (explanations) for each of your 10-item NCLEX-RN style questions. Follow these guidelines:

a. This is where student learning occurs. The explanation is a teaching tool to clarify why the correct answer is the proper action to take or decision to make. Similarly, the explanation needs to clarify why each incorrect option should not be done or are not the proper decisions in this situation. The explanation should not explicitly state the fact that the distracters are incorrect.

4. Using your texts, class resources, and table below develop a test blueprint for your 10-item NCLEX-RN style test.

a. Paste the table below in your groups Word document. Place the two (2) learning objectives your group developed as the tables rows. Then, place the actual question number into the appropriate box for objective and Blooms taxonomy level alignment. Each question number should only be used once. Indicate the number of the question in the appropriate box of the table (i.e., #3, #4, or #10). You may list more than 1 question number in each box, if needed.

b. For each question, identify the appropriate category of the NCLEX-RN Test Plan in which the question would fall (see the NCLEX-RN test plan posted in the course for NCSBNs current distribution scale).

If a test bank or AI is used to create your test, you will receive a zero on the assignment. A quick Internet search will show test bank questions and AI usage. Using a test bank or AI does not facilitate any learning.

Refer to the grading rubric posted in the course. All points must be adequately addressed to receive full credit.
