Research Problem: Inconsistent use of evidence-based deprescribing practices for older adults with
polypharmacy in primary care. This is a problem due to high prevalence of polypharmacy,
lack of standardized deprescribing processes, patient safety concerns, advanced practice
nurse role, and healthcare system impact. Research is needed to evaluate effective NP-led
interventions that support systematic deprescribing and improve outcomes in older
adults
