This assignment challenges you to create a brief and focused slide presentation that connects a nursing theory to an evidence-based intervention relevant to your practice. You will present this as if introducing a proposal or concept to colleagues, clinical leadership, or an interdisciplinary team.

Purpose

By completing this assignment, you will:

  • Identify a relevant nursing theory and summarize its key concepts. ( Watsons Theory of Human Caring)
  • Apply that theory to support an evidence-based intervention.

Instructions

Create a 56 slide presentation that includes the following:

Slide 1: Title Slide

  • Title of your presentation
  • Your name and credentials
  • Course and date

Slide 2: Theory Overview

  • Name of theory and theorist
  • Key concepts or assumptions (brief bullet points)
  • Why this theory fits the issue or setting

Slide 3: Evidence-Based Practice Focus

  • Brief description of the clinical issue or intervention
  • Summary of current evidence or guidelines supporting the practice change

Slide 4: Theory-to-EBP Connection

  • How the theory supports the implementation or rationale for your intervention
  • Specific ways the theory aligns with the problem, population, or goals

Slide 5: Practical Application

  • How this theory would influence actions, communication, or outcomes in your setting
  • Anticipated benefits or measurable impacts of using a theory-informed approach

Slide 6: References

  • At least 3 scholarly references in APA 7 format
  • Include one theoretical source and at least one current EBP guideline or research article
