Movement Analysis of Lower Extremity Objective: Demonstrate the ability to analyze a daily living activity or sport skill. General Requirements: View this analysis as a major exam. It should demonstrate that you achieved the stated objectives in the module. The analysis should be free of spelling and typing errors. Writing style and APA citation is important. The analysis should be submitted on time. The scope of this analysis is limited to a discussion of the upper extremity as primary to the production of the daily living or sport skill. Analysis should be roughly 4 pages in length, and double-spaced. Specific Requirements: Your paper should be organized as follows: 1. Part I – Introduction: The opening paragraph should include a: A Description of the motor skill. Discuss the primary purpose of the skill. Describe the movement phases. Discuss the nature of the motion. 2. Part II – Anatomical Analysis Describe joint actions and segments motions Discuss muscle participation and forms of contractions Discuss anatomical principles and related effective and safe performance concepts. 3. Part III – Mechanical Analysis Discuss underlying mechanical objectives Describe the nature of forces causing or impeding the motion Discuss the mechanical principles that apply Draw a free body diagram (refer to Chapter 4). Do not need to include equations or solve equations. 4. Part IV – Prescription for Improvement Discuss common errors Indicate how the performance should be changed to be more effective, efficient or safe. Be sure all material and/or outside resources are cited according to APA guidelines.
