Module 5 Discussion: Cold War and Vietnam

CHOOSE ONE

OPTION A:

The Cold War was a period of intense geopolitical tension between the United States and the Soviet Union, shaping global politics and American society. Looking at Impact on American Society: How did the Cold War affect American society? Discuss the Red Scare, McCarthyism, the arms race, and the space race. What were some of the social and cultural impacts of living under the threat of nuclear war?

OPTION B:

The Vietnam War was a complex and controversial conflict that had significant impacts on both Vietnam and the United States. Look to Media and Public Opinion: How did media coverage of the Vietnam War influence public opinion in the United States? What role did television and photojournalism play in shaping perceptions of the war?
