Reading Response Assignment

Question: This reading argues that mainstream feminist movements can unintentionally support settler colonialism. How can you engage in Native Feminist theories to support indigenous sovereignty?

In your response, be sure to:

  • Clearly explain at least one example from the reading.
  • Include one direct quotation from the text, cited properly in MLA format (e.g., Deckman 87).
  • Write at least 300 words.

You may use this space to explore how settler colonial structures are more than events in time and how settler colonialism is maintained through laws, education, land theft, racial hierarchy, and gender violence.

  4. Write Clearly and Professionally:
  • Use Times New Roman, font size 12, and double spacing for your document.
  • Ensure your writing is free of grammar and structural errors.
  • Use full sentences (subject, verb, and complement) and write in paragraph form.
  1. Demonstrate Depth of Analysis: Go beyond summarizing the reading. Your reflection should show thoughtful engagement and critical analysis of the assigned material.
