The three parts of this assignment are as follows:

3. Compose a research question, a directional, nondirectional and null hypotheses. (15 points)

Kyle was employed as a police officer at Oxford PD and was interested in the city’s community-oriented policing program. He wanted to know whether positive, nonenforcement interactions with community oriented police officers (COPS) actually change citizen’s attitudes toward the police. He was able to obtain data that had already been gathered on the outcomes of a cohort of citizens who had completed a program facilitated by COPS and then compare that data with a similar group of citizens who, during the same time period, did not participate in the COPS program (her control group).

For the aforementioned study,

  • Compose one research question,
  • Compose a directional hypothesis,
  • Compose a nondirectional hypothesis, and
  • Compose a null hypothesis

Remember to use Q. for your question, H1 for the nondirectional hypothesis, H2 for the directional hypothesis, and H0 for the null hypothesis.
