Previously, you addressed the issues of merging organizations in a segment of a multi-year integrated case study that offers you the opportunity to apply the knowledge gained in the course to a real-world situation. In this assignment, you will review the case study with its supporting information, analyze the post-acquisition core values, goals, and organizational structure of Purple Cloud, and suggest research needs that result from your interaction with the case.

- Refer to “MGT-805 Integrated Case Study” located in the Class Resources for this course.
- Refer to the feedback provided by your instructor on your Topic 2 assignment.
- This assignment uses a rubric. Please review the rubric prior to beginning the assignment to become familiar with the expectations for successful completion.
- Doctoral learners are required to use APA style for their writing assignments. The APA Style Guide is located in the Student Success Center. An abstract is not required.
- Refer to the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association for specific guidelines related to doctoral-level writing. The Manual contains essential information on manuscript structure and content, clear and concise writing, and academic grammar and usage.
- This assignment requires that at least three scholarly research sources related to this topic, and at least one in-text citation from each source be included. Support for decisions should include appropriate current (within the last 3 years) or foundational, peer reviewed, and professional research.

Review the information in “MGT-805 Integrated Case Study,” located in the Class Resources for this course. This includes narrative information as well as financial and supporting documentation.
Consider the first question presented in the case study and the assignment prompts below to formulate decisions based on the information and documentation in the case study. You will need to support your decisions with appropriate current (within the last three years) or foundational, peer reviewed, and professional research as well as the instructor feedback from your Topic 2 assignment.
Write a paper (1,500-1,750 words) that analyzes the post-acquisition core values, goals, and organizational structure of Purple Cloud. Integrate instructor feedback from your Topic 2 assignment. Your response to each item below should appear as a separate section of the paper using the headings provided. In your paper, include the following:
- Recommended Values: A recommendation of and rationale for no more than five post-acquisition core values of the merged organization. Your recommendation must include the words, “I recommend…”
- Recommended Goals: A recommendation of and rationale for at least three goals for the merged organization. Refer to the case study document to infer finance, organizational culture, and other goals from the document. Your recommendation must include the words, “I recommend…”
- Structural Issues: A research-supported discussion of the organizational structure issues of the merged organization. Refer to the “Purple Cloud Post-Acquisition Structure” graphic presented in the case study. Is the proposed structure flexible? Does the proposed structure plan for obsolescence?
- Values and Ethics of Reporting Structure: A research-based discussion of the values and ethics surrounding a subordinate reporting to more than one superior in an organization.
- Future Research: A discussion of future research that you could conduct relative to merging core values, goals, or organizational culture or structures following an acquisition.
