Research Topic: Navigating Higher Education: Understanding the experience and perceptions of institutional support systems (such as mentoring, financial aid, and counseling) for historically marginalized students at Notre Dame of Maryland University (First-generation & International Students). Assignment Instruction: A research topic is the beginning of doctoral-level research. From this week, you will need to think about your research topic and create your own research outline and plan. Please write a 2-page memo using the correct memo format in which you propose the topic/study for the final assignment for this course (a 10-12 page proposal for a research study) . This topic should be one that can be researched, that is important, that will lead to change, and that will add new knowledge to the field. Be sure to include the following in the memo: Description of the topic Evidence-based reason the topic is important and should be studied Main research question(s) Proposed study design and method of data collection Anticipated outcomes Limitations to the study Timeline for the study
