PROJECT OVERVIEW
Develop a comprehensive reseach for a media organization operating in the UAE. This
Project replace the midterm exam.
Groups of 4-5 students will analyze real-world media management challenges, propose
strategies based on course management theories, and present actionable
recommendations. The project simulates leading a media firm, focusing on functions like
planning, organizing, leading, and controlling.
Submision Deadline: February 16th (Monday). Word document: 2000 words.
Class presentation: February 17th (Tuesday) and February 24th (Tuesday). PPT
document: 10 slides as maximun.
The weight of the grade in the overall grade is 25%: written part 10%, oral presentation
and defense 15%.
Remember to use a professional structure in your work. Don’t forget to include the title,
the names of all authors, a table of contents, and final conclusions with your
recommendations for improvement. Include an index at least 5 academic citations.
KEY OBJECTIVES

PROJECT TASKS
1. Organization Profile:
1) Select or create a media entity: e.g. TV network, Digital Publisher,
Streaming service….2. Management:
1) Describe the management style: Taylor theory, Fayol theory, Mayo
theory.
2) Describe the structure: close vs open, dinamic vs rigid …
3) Leadership:
a. How is the decision making process? hieralchical vs horizontal.
b. Is the ownership the leader?
4) Media management challenges
3. HR and Leadership Plan:
1) Leadership in multicultural settings: how is the leadership?
2) Represents its organizational chart. Do you think any important
departments are missing?
3) 4) Organizational culture and environment. Describe it.

Course Learning Outcomes considered in this Project:
1. Recognize the concept of management relevant to media business activities
2. Identify key theories and practice of management in the development of media
business activities

course.
