Note: I’ve included two sample companies for your perusal that will give you an idea of what a stronger than average analysis looks like. Feel free to emulate the look and flow of these papers (though it is not required to follow their exact look – just trying to provide some ideas!).
The purpose of this project is to demonstrate your grasp of the concepts you have learned throughout the course and your ability to analyze the financial standings and history of a company. You should be comfortable with choosing a company and:
Read and understand the five basic financial statements
Read and understand the financial components of an Annual Report
Know how to interpret and calculate key financial ratios
Evaluate and form an opinion on the value of a company
Evaluate and explain the risk/reward trade-off of investing in that company
