Computer Science: Management information systems major and my 5 strengths are Achiever Focus Strategic Analytical Command My personal mission is to become a technology professional who uses strategic thinking and strong discipline to improve organizations which depend on information systems and data. I want to build a career in Management Information Systems which is a field that connects business and technology and which allows me to solve problems that companies face when they try to grow in competitive markets. When I reflect on who I am now I see a student who is highly motivated and who feels satisfied when he achieves meaningful goals. According to my CliftonStrengths results which describe my dominant talents my top five themes are Achiever Strategic Focus Analytical and Command which together shape the way I think work and lead. First Achiever is the strength which drives me to complete tasks every day and which makes me uncomfortable when I feel unproductive. I am someone who feels accomplished when I set clear goals which help me measure progress and which give structure to my daily responsibilities. Furthermore Focus is the strength which allows me to concentrate deeply on important priorities when distractions appear around me. I am the type of person who can dedicate long hours to a task when I believe that it will help me move closer to my long term goals. In addition Strategic is the strength which helps me see patterns and possibilities which others may not immediately recognize. I often think about different scenarios when I plan something which prepares me for unexpected challenges. Similarly Analytical supports this ability because I prefer decisions which are based on logic and evidence rather than emotions. I am a person who wants to understand why something happens and who feels confident when ideas are clear and reasonable. Above all Command is the strength which gives me confidence in group situations when leadership is required. I am comfortable speaking up when I believe something is important and I am willing to take responsibility when a decision must be made. Not only do these strengths describe how I work but they also explain how I respond when I face pressure or uncertainty. The career that I am considering is Computer and Information Systems Manager which is a profession that involves planning directing and coordinating technology activities inside organizations which depend on secure and efficient systems. According to national labor data which provides detailed information about occupations in the United States this career requires strong analytical skills leadership abilities communication skills and technical knowledge which includes understanding databases networks and business systems. Additionally professionals in this field usually earn a competitive salary which reflects the importance of their responsibilities. The median annual salary is high compared to many other occupations which makes this career attractive for students who are willing to work hard and gain experience. Moreover the job outlook is positive which means there will likely be continued demand for professionals who can manage technology systems when I graduate. The tasks that managers perform include analyzing company technology needs supervising teams who work on system improvements protecting company data and making strategic decisions which support business goals. To prepare for this career I plan to pursue internships which will allow me to gain practical experience before graduation.
