Management Ethical Current Event – MidTerm Assignment

Choose a recent (within the last two years) business/management ethical current event. Ideas for topics include, but are not limited to:

• Workplace harassment
• Fraudulent financial reporting practices
• Retaliation against whistleblowers
• Data breaches
• Business practices that harm the environment
• Illegal labor practices

You will need to complete the following for this assignment.

1. Identify the name of the article, author, date, and publication in the opening paragraph.
2. Summarize the article in your own words by highlighting the key components. What are the ethical considerations within the current event?
3. Identify the alternative action(s) that management might have taken and the ethics of the alternative action(s) the company could/should have taken. You should have at least one.
4. Explain how this event relates to a specific textbook term or concept from Chapters 1-8. This should be something specific and not a generalization. You should include the definition (in your own words) of the term or concept and explain how it relates to the event.
