Literature Search on your PICOT Question

1. Perform a literature search for the PICOT question identified from your assignment that you completed for Module 1. Use Chapter 3 and the PubMed Search Example document as a guide to conduct your search.

a) Complete the Search Strategy Development Worksheet and submit it with this assignment.

b) List the names of the databases you used to perform your literature search.

c) Provide a list of 7-8 references related/relevant to your PICOT question.

2. Create and complete an Evaluation Table (as presented in Appendix D Evaluation Table Template of your textbook) for the 7-8 references selected. In a separate column in your table, rate the level of evidence (LOE) for each reference and provide a rationale for the rating you chose. Use a specific evidence rating scale. See the following example:

3. In 500-750 words, summarize the evidence found in the literature related to your topic. Your reflection should address the patterns/trends in the findings, what answered questions remain in the evidence that is currently available, a critique of the overall quality (LOE) of the evidence found, and implications for practice, policy, or future quality improvement projects.
