Legislation Testimony

The Requirements

1. Write a personal Testimony (2 Pages) -Utilizing Bill SB2479 moving through the current Hawaii State Legislative session that impacts social work practice or client well-being. Write a formal written testimony to the appropriate committee as a MSW student.

In-Class Oral Reflection (1 Page) – Prepare speaker notes for presentation about the following:

• The bill you chose and its potential impact on social work practice in Hawaii.
• The challenges or surprises you encountered while navigating the legislative system.
• The experience of teaching a community member and their reaction to being empowered in the political process.
