About the Assignment For this assignment you will create a PowerPoint presentation (12 slide minimum). This analysis will allow you to further examine the role of managers and the responsibilities they hold in the health industry. You will research legal and ethical issues within the healthcare system and use your findings to provide in-depth insight on multiple problems that can arise, as well as how to solve them by utilizing current legislation and organizational resources. You will use a minimum of three credible resources, including two scholarly, peer-reviewed journal articles, to support your presentation. PowerPoint Presentation Prompt You will create a PowerPoint with at least 10 informative slides that include speaker’s notes. In addition you will include a title slide and a reference slide for a minimum of 12 slides total. You should utilize appropriate photographs, charts, or video to enhance your slides and make them engaging. For this PowerPoint you will choose one healthcare sector such as pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, equipment, distribution, facilities, or managed healthcare for your focus. You will then describe the sector in detail so your audience fully understands the sector. You will include both a general overview of the sector, and how it functions within the healthcare industry. You will then explore a legal/ethical issue within this sector and apply how the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA) and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) address and alleviate this issue. You will use critical thinking skills to analyze the strengths and challenges of using the ACA or HIPAA to alleviate this legal issue. You will address how organizational behavior can affect quality management’s position on and role in resolving this legal/ethical issue.
