For this final project, you have the opportunity to create an orientation guide to the leadership team for the orientation of new nurse managers. This project will include the creation of an orientation guide/plan in a PowerPoint presentation. Leadership and management topics will be selected to support the nurse manager as he or she transitions into the new role. The guide will provide a roadmap for the new managers to understand their role as they transition into a leadership position. Look back at our coursework and readings from the last seven modules to compile specific topics to support a new nurse manager as they get acclimated to the organization or unit. APA citations expected. Follow PowerPoint format guidelines for layout and bulleted key points.

Some questions that might be considered for this proposal:

1. What tasks will be expected in this new role?
2. What requirements will be expected in this role?
3. What objectives will be expected to be completed in this role?

Your orientation should include:

• Introductory and concluding remarks
• Slides that identify 8 specific topics to support the new nurse manager in their new role
• Learning objectives for the lesson(s)
• Add title and reference slides.
• Follow Rules of 7.
• Submission must be both the PPT Presentation and include speaker notes in Word format, submitted below through Turnitin for an Originality Report.
• Speaker notes that include:
• the rationale for including each topic with a synthesis of professional literature
• recommendation of internal and or external materials for each topic
• recommendation of a facilitator for each topic
• a rationale listing why the materials and facilitator(s) are the most appropriate choice for that topic
• Two or more scholarly resources to support the rationales

Note:

1. Title and reference pages/slides do not count towards the count requirements.
2. Programs will assist in creating voice to text when creating the document to submit for similarity report in Turnitin. A Turnitin Originality Report is required for any assignment to be graded. You may use this outline template to help organize your resources. You should use this PowerPoint template to build your presentation.

Interprets the eight comprehensive topics to include in a management orientation program in a PowerPoint presentation.

Justifies the inclusion of each of the 8 topics using peer reviewed and/or professional sources in the speaker notes

Constructs at least four objectives/ competencies necessary at completion of orientation in the Power Point.

Appraises resources and facilitator(s) (internal &/or external) to use during orientation for each topic.

Assesses why the materials and the facilitator are the most appropriate choice for each topic.

Follows rules of seven on slides;

Bulleted points only; no paragraphs to read.
