Requiring all agencies to report would also create more transparency and accountability within the criminal justice system. It would ensure that crime is being measured fairly across different regions instead of depending on which departments choose to participate. While some agencies may argue that reporting takes time and resources, having reliable national crime data is essential for improving public safety and trust in law enforcement.
