Hi, this is for my PHIL 50 (Professional & Personal Ethics) class. The assignment is a Final Journal made up of four separate journal topics. Each topic is reflective and based on ethical theories we studied in class.
Heres what I need:
Journal Topic 1
- Part 1: At least 250 words.
- Explain whether I believe in objective moral standards or if morality depends on culture (relativism).
- Include a personal example.
- Based on Chapter 1 concepts.
- Part 2: At least 150 words.
- Reflect on a scenario about underreporting a car sale price to avoid taxes.
- Explain what I would do and whether my answer shows objective or relative ethics.
Journal Topic 2 (minimum 400 words)
- Reflect on a case about a struggling single mother who finds a wallet full of cash.
- Answer:
- What should she do and why.
- How this relates to my values from Journal 1.
- Apply Kantian ethics.
- Apply utilitarianism.
- Compare those theories to my personal view.
Journal Topic 3
- Reflect on Topics 1 and 2.
- Choose at least three concepts from:
- Dehumanization
- Rights theories
- Virtue ethics
- Explain why they matter to my own beliefs and moral decision-making.
Journal Topic 4
Two parts required.
Part 1 (choose ONE option, at least 500 words):
- Option 1: Describe an experience that taught a moral lesson, then analyze it using at least three course theories.
- OR
- Option 2: Reflect on moral lessons from major world events since 2020, using at least three course concepts.
Part 2 (3501000 words):
- Explain the most valuable theory or concept learned in the class.
- Give an example.
- Reflect on what it reveals about personal values.
Important notes:
- This is a reflection-style journal, not a research paper.
- It should sound natural and personal, not overly formal.
- No plagiarismTurnitin is used.
- Follow the minimum word counts for each section.
