Journal rules:
- In ONE paragraph, explain what you are going to talk about.
- Sometimes this means you simply need to define of the social psychological concept. It must be RELEVANT to the module the book covers.
- Sometimes, instead, you need to explain the social psychological concept you are about to discuss in the next paragraph (e.g., if you are discussing the importance of knowing the difference between correlational information compared to experimental information).
- In a 2nd (new) paragraph, detail a PERSONAL experience with the social psychological concept. Either explain how YOU demonstrated the social psychological concept, or saw something happen, or saw someone else demonstrate the social psychological concept. Do NOT simply paraphrase a lesson or example about the concept. You had to have viewed or experienced it personally (not in our class).
- When in doubt, email your journal to the instructor at least a day in advance (or call her and let her know you are emailing it to her to review).
Only provide ONE idea/concept (with associated personal example) in each “journal.”
See example in attachment.
