Discussion – Introduction to Viruses and Malware

Objective

This week’s discussion will engage us in a conversation about some major cyberattacks that had a huge impact for its time. You will answer the questions below to get started. Please provide thoughtful answers and any personal feedback you may have on this topic.

  • In May 2017, WannaCry took control of computers and demanded digital ransom
  • In September 2016, Mirai launched some of the most powerful and disruptive DDoS attacks
  • In June 2019, a ransomware attack dubbed, “Triple Threat”, crippled computer systems in two Florida Cities
