Download the attached file. Set up a time to interview someone in your life. Consider family members, coworkers, partners, or friends.

The interview will concern their occupation and should take about 10 minutes to complete. While interviewing your subject, you should not only listen carefully to their answers, but also observe how they look and sound while they are answering. You do not have to record the interview, but you may find it very helpful to do so.

When the interview is complete, record a 35-minute summary of the interview. Discuss their answers to the questions. What details did they provide about each question? Were there details you would have liked for them to include? Did the information seem honest? Do they appear to have a lot of experience about this topic? Include as much as you can of what they discussed and your impressions of it.

You should also include your impressions of your interview subject as well. Did they appear comfortable answering questions? Did their answers seem thoughtful, or were they rushed? Did they appear nervous? Again, include as much detail as you can.
