Intelligence Collection & Civil Liberties

Week 6 Intelligence Collection & Civil Liberties In light of the post-9/11 intelligence reforms and the expansion of surveillance capabilities, how should the US intelligence community strike a balance between the imperative of homeland security and the protection of civil liberties, particularly when dealing with whistleblowers who expose classified information? In your response, consider the legal frameworks such as the USA Patriot Act and the Whistleblower Protection Act, as well as the ethical implications demonstrated in the case studies of Ellsberg, Manning, Snowden, and others. Should the publics right to know ever outweigh national and homeland security concerns? Why or why not?
