The Final Paper is the capstone scholarly product for this course. The paper must address a topic in organizational behavior relevant to nursing or healthcare and demonstrate doctoral-level synthesis, theory application, and scholarly writing.
Regardless of the option, the paper should:
Be grounded in organizational behavior theory
Address relevance to nursing leadership or healthcare organizations
Demonstrate critical thinking and scholarly rigor
Be written in APA 7th edition format
Integrative Review Paper
Using Whittemore & Knafl Methodology
Description
Students choosing this option will conduct a scholarly integrative review using the Whittemore and Knafl (2005) methodology.
The purpose of this assignment is to develop advanced skills in systematic inquiry, theory synthesis, and scholarly writing, while deepening understanding of organizational behavior phenomena that influence nursing leadership, healthcare systems, and institutional performance.
Students will synthesize empirical and theoretical literature to generate new insights, conceptual clarity, and implications for leadership, practice, and future research.
Topic Selection
Topics must address organizational behavior or organizational development in nursing or healthcare settings. Examples include (but are not limited to):
Leadership styles and organizational outcomes in nursing
Organizational culture and nurse retention
Power, politics, and decision-making in healthcare organizations
Emotional intelligence and nursing leadership
Organizational change and resistance in healthcare systems
Conflict management in interprofessional teams
Topic approval by the instructor is required.
