307 Module Five Project Preparation Guidelines and Rubric Overview Nurses are adept at presenting information in a concise manner, such as when providing essential information to healthcare team members or when writing an abstract for a conference. Conference presentations usually include continuing education (CE) credit for attendees, which is evaluated with content-specific, post-presentation questions written by the presenter. As part of the conference submission, the presenter must include questions that can be used to verify knowledge for continuing education credit. In Project Two, you will create a presentation outlining one example of information and communication technology in healthcare. You will do a comprehensive examination of an influential healthcare technology, which should include discussion of its features, impact, advantages, and disadvantages. In this project preparation, you will submit the abstract for that presentation, which should concisely state that information for the conference reviewers, who will determine if the presentation will be accepted. Scenario Your local nursing association sent out a call for abstracts for its annual conference. This years conference theme is Information and Communication Technologies. You have been vetting information and communication technologies for use in healthcare and have decided that you should share this information with other healthcare providers. You decide on one technology that can be influential in improving healthcare outcomes. You use the information you have gathered to submit an abstract for the conference. Directions Write an abstract for a presentation at your local nursing associations conference. Abstracts should not exceed 300 words. Select your words carefully and be concise, informative, and persuasive. The technology choice may be one from previous module assignments but must be the same one you use for Project Two. The technology chosen cannot be electronic health records. An APA-style template can be found in the library guide linked in the Start Here section of the course. Use at least two scholarly, current (within the last five years) references to support your work. Provide an appropriate title for your presentation, then address the prompts. Specifically, you must address the following rubric criteria: Technology: Identify the technology to be presented. Features: Explain the relevant features of the technology. Impact: Explain the impact of the technology on healthcare outcomes. Advantages and limitations: Describe the advantages and limitations of the technology. What to Submit Submit your completed abstract. Your submission should be a 1- to 2-page Word document with separate title and reference pages that are not part of the page count. Follow APA Style standards for formatting and citing your sources.
