Importance of a place to the writer and others

First, post a pdf of your (full) first draft here in this discussion thread (at least 1000 words). Second, post two reviews of classmate’s drafts. Please respond to someone who hasn’t been reviewed yet, if possible. We want everyone’s essay to be read! Your reviews must be at least 300 words in length each. You can use paragraphs or bullet points, but you must use full, complete sentences and explain your points thoroughly to best help our your peer as they are revising their essay. Your reviews are graded & need to be turned in on time for your classmate to revise their draft. Here are some questions to think about as you read & review. Please read these before you read the essay & after. 1. Please evaluate the drafts thesis statement. Is it specific enough to be interesting and to convey the papers main idea? Is it clearly written? Does it answer the SO WHAT test? Please give suggestions for improvement. 2. Where did you have trouble determining a paragraphs topic, and why? Note especially those paragraphs which do not present a clear topic or which deal with more than one. 3. Does the paper adequately explain how and why a place is important to the writer AND to someone who has not been there? If not, discuss how to deepen the level of analysis. Might the writer need to come up with a more specific thesis? 4. What do you like most about this draft, and why? 5. What needs the most work, and why?
