Case Study (equivalent to 2,400 words) (A selected multinational company) has decided to set up a subsidiary within a country independent of their home country. Critically analyse the HRM challenges that the MNC will face in setting up this subsidiary, in particular the different approaches to HRM practices, the cultural and institutional factors across these countries and on the issue of whether to integrate or differentiate their approach. You can use the subsidiary country that you used as part of your group presentation or select a new country. Do, though, be aware that you cannot take text/ideas directly from your first assessment into this assessment, as that is plagiarism. Guidance: You are expected to critically analyse AT LEAST three of the following HRM areas in relation to selected organisation and the subsidiary countrys: recruitment and selection; training and development; performance management; reward management; expatriation/staffing; or flexible working. You are expected to show a strong understanding of these HRM areas in a general sense, as well as how they may differ across these two countries. You must discuss the relevant cultural and institutional factors in each of the countries and the potential opportunities and challenges that they may cause for selected organisation . Ensure that you engage with academic literature both on international HRM more broadly and focusing on your specific countries. Support the assertions you make about the selected organsiation with practical examples. Ensure that any suggestions you offer are realistic and appropriate for their circumstances.
