City Government Draft a city ordinance proposal with a clear policy goal. Explain what the ordinance would do and why this issue matters to you personally or to your community or neighborhood. Based on your specific ordinance proposal, explain which municipal elected official or officials (city council member, mayor, or city manager) you would send the proposal to. Justify your choice by applying relevant course concepts such as the form and type of your municipal government and type of representation (single-member district or at-large). Explain the formal authority of the selected city official or officials to adopt and implement your proposal by citing the appropriate chapters and sections of your city charter. B. County Government 4. Write a one-paragraph formal letter to your county elected official (include full name and title) explaining a specific issue that directly affects your life and what action you expect the county government to take. 5. Explain why this official is the appropriate recipient by applying course concepts related to your county jurisdiction, representation, and institutional authority. C. Special Purpose Districts 6. Identify your ISD and Community College District and select one board of trustees( ISD or college district) to address. In one paragraph, propose a policy change or program within the boards authority and explain how it supports your personal or educational goals. D. AI Reflection 7. Explain how you used AI tools, if at all, to support your work while remaining in compliance with the proper use of AI as described in the course syllabus and course announcements. 8. Using two specific examples, explain how you verified that any AI-assisted information was accurate, dependable, not biased, and reflected your opinion rather than being generated by AI. Grading Criteria Completeness (1 point): All parts (A, B, C, and D) of the assignment are fully and accurately completed. Responses are clearly numbered, and questions or instructions are not copied into the submission. Demonstration of Knowledge and Critical Thinking (2 points): Responses demonstrate accurate application of course concepts rather than simple description. Responses reflect the students own reasoning, unique experiences, and priorities. Every major claim or statement is followed by supportive evidence. Grammar and Formatting (1 point): Writing is clear, professional, and free of major grammatical errors. No bullet points, subtitles, or other AI-generated features such as vague or generic language are used. Informal citations consist of website names and textbook chapters or sections, followed by pasted links, and are listed at the end of the paper. In-text citations are required only for textbook references and must include the textbook authors name and page number.
