1) What is the difference between race and ethnicity?
2) Ahearn’s chapter contains a lot of information, some of it (such as the particulars of AAVE, the Ebonics controversy, etc.) will be discussed in other units. What terms/items in the beginning part of the chapter stand out for you and why?
3) An important term in considering the interaction between language, race, and ethnicity in racialization. This term is NOT presented in the materials of this unit, however, I would like you to find out what it means and how it can inform our understanding of the subject matter.
