Reflect on how your own experiences, observations, or learning from class might influence your views on group leadership. This journal will help you not only assess your current understanding of group leadership but also encourage you to consider areas of growth as you continue to develop as a leader. Take your time with this journal, and feel free to refer to course readings, notes, or experiences from any group work you have engaged in to support your reflections.

Please read and reflect on the following:

  • If you were asked to state concisely the theoretical orientation that guides your interventions as a group leader, how would you reply?
  • Identify some of the ways that your cultural background has influenced your value system and your lifestyle. In what ways do you think your culture affects what you hope to accomplish in the groups you lead?

Formatting Guidelines:

  • Length: Your journal entry should be at least 250 words per section. So a total of 500 words.
  • Tone: Write in a reflective, conversational tone. There is no need for formal academic writing, but ensure your points are clear and well-thought-out.
