Human Services- Problem Solving Exercise Assignment wk#5

For this assignment you will be writing a session plan for a psychoeducational group in which you are teaching the 6-step problem-solving method to the clients. For this you will write out what you will say and what the client responses may be. Pick a problem. It can be anything you want, and you can use the problem you talked about in the questions earlier. For the script you will:

1. Introduce the 6-step problem solving method, explain why this is being taught (think about what the benefit of using this process is)
2. Use a problem to go through the steps of the process
3. Your group does not have a consensus on the strategy, what will you do?
4. Do a follow up session. This will be another day in which you do step 5. Evaluate the decision based on what you did in #3.

Your group should have at least 3 clients and responses from all three need to be included. Example:

Leader: Today we are going to talk about problem solving.

Client 1: We all have a lot of those.

Client 2: I have a problem I need to work out.

Client 3: We dont have time to solve all your problems.
