Purpose: To facilitate an understanding of childhood immunizations and their importance not only for the health promotion of a child but to population health. To integrate theory into practice and facilitate evidence-based research. Instructions: Please discuss the following topics in your paper Historical significance related to vaccination and immunization How were vaccines first developed? Childhood diseases through the years-Discuss how vaccines have changed? What is herd immunity? What is are the types of vaccine, i.e.- Live, Inactivated, toxoid, etc. Out of the list below, pick one vaccine and discuss at length the development, the disease it is protecting against (including pathophysiology, clinical manifestations, treatment for unvaccinated, transmission rate) when the child should receive, how is it administered and how many doses education, and mortality rate if unvaccinated. Vaccination schedule up to 18 years- May use a photo but make sure to use APA format Discuss what age group (infant, toddler, preschool, school age, adolescent) receives the most vaccines and when? What age group is the most at risk for contracting a vaccine preventable disease and what preventions can be taken? What types of exemptions are available? How do you qualify and what are they? Which childhood illnesses/conditions might be temporarily exempt from vaccinations and why?
