The name and location of the organization UCLA Health 1001 Gayley Ave, 2nd Floor, Suite #20, Los Angeles, CA 90024 The individual within the organization you have determined as a viable point of contact Amelia Sherman, Manager of Communications and Programming, Sound Body Sound Mind The health promotion project (or projects, if you have not yet selected one) within this organization that you will study UCLA Health: Sound Body Sound Mind I think for our project, we could use the Integrated Behavioral Model (IBM). We could use the earlier theories that frame the IBM, but the IBM might just be easier since it’s comprehensive and suits the program. 1. Attitude: it’s in a fun classroom setting at school. Plus the program seems to want to encourage exercise through fun stuff as a group 2. perceived norm: it’s the whole class doing it at the same time (or multiple kids) 3. personal agency: as the kids do it more, they feel empowered to continue with the knowledge and skills We def could fit in Social Cognitive Theory – a lot of its aspects fit with Sound Body and Sound Mind. Now that I type it out, I might lean for SCT over IBM since SCT can be done from the program’s point of view (i.e. it’s the educators that really make the difference), whereas SCT focuses more on intention (alongside environment) but generally (i feel) is more self-driven – which can be harder if it’s kids we’re talking about
