Guided Reflection on EOPSLOs: Instructions. Limit to 1.5 – 2 pages. EOPSLOs: What They Mean The American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) identifies 10 domains expected of BSN graduates. Within this document, the expectations of generalist nursing practice upon completion of a BSN program and includes practice-focused outcomes that integrate knowledge, skills, and attitudes. LSSC’s RN to BSN curriculum is grounded in these domains through the expectation that our graduates will achieve all five identified End of Program Student Learning Outcomes (EOPSLOs), as well as the specific competencies associated with each. EOPSLOs: Why They Matter Achievement of LSSC’s EOPSLOs will enable graduates to practice within complex and diverse healthcare systems and to assume broader roles of care provider, designer/manager/coordinator of care, and member of a profession. Each student will assess his/her progress in meeting the End-of-Program Student Learning Outcomes (EOPSLOs) at the end of each NUR course in the program. In Capstone, the student will place all of the EOPSLOs in a major scholarly paper (Save your Guided Reflection from each course, to facilitate writing this summative self-evaluation.) EOPSLOs: How They Are Met Students are introduced to all five EOPSLOs in the first required course, NUR 3825 Professional Role Transition. The EOPSLOs are then reinforced throughout the remaining core courses and are emphasized in the last core course, NUR 4945L Nursing Capstone. In each course, students complete a maximum 1.5-2-page (excluding cover page and reference list), graded Guided Reflection assignment in which they reflect on how they are progressing toward achieving the identified EOPSLOs for the course. The EOPSLOs selected by the student should vary in each course, so that all five have been addressed at least once before taking NUR 4945L Nursing Capstone. It is highly recommended that students save these course papers, as they will be need to be uploaded into your e-portfolio as it showcases your achievement of the five RN-BSN EOPSLOs in NUR 4945L Nursing Capstone. For this course, you will speak to EOPSLO: #3 Analyze the concepts of nursing leadership and management in the ethical principles of professional nursing to promote safe and quality outcomes of wholistic care in various healthcare environments. The course Guided Reflection asks that you consider three things: 1) What the EOPSLOs selected mean to your nursing practice as it develops through the baccalaureate education process? 2) identify 2-course competencies (listed in your syllabus) and skills you will need to achieve the selected EOPSLOs; and, 3) discuss 2 specific graded assignments or discussions in the course that helped you to move forward in developing the identified competencies associated with EACH of the selected EOPSLOs.
