Writing assignment 1: Eurocentrism Writing assignment is regarding Eurocentrism as discussed in Jim Blauts book, The Colonizers Model of the World, pages 1-29. In your writing you need to address the following topics: What is Eurocentrism? What are the fundamental ideas of Eurocentrism? Do you agree with these Eurocentric ideas or not. Whether you agree or not, you need to provide the reasons for your agreement or disagreement. Or are there ideas in Eurocentrism that you agree with, and ideas that you dont agree with. Lastly, do you think Eurocentrism presents a distorted picture of world history? The teacher is looking for reasons as to why you take one position or another. Please note, my stance is on this topic is that, I do not agree with Eurocentrism. As a Black woman, I believe it limits representation and centers one cultural perspective while excluding others. Different cultures and viewpoints should be equally valued.
