In this assignment, you will apply models of racial/ethnic identity development to your own life. Your reflection should address the following areas:

  1. Stages of Racial Identity Development Identify the stages of racial or ethnic identity you have experienced (e.g., Crosss Nigrescence Model, Helms Model, Phinneys Ethnic Identity Development Model, or another framework). Describe how you moved through these stages and what they meant for your personal growth.
  2. Attitudes and Behaviors Explain how your racial identity was expressed in your attitudes, beliefs, and behaviors at different points in your development. Provide specific examples that illustrate these expressions.
  3. Influencing Factors Discuss the social, cultural, and personal factors that influenced the development of your racial/ethnic identity. These may include family, peers, community, traditions, cultural values, and social context.
  4. Barriers and Challenges Reflect on the barriers, challenges, or forms of prejudice/discrimination you have encountered in relation to race, and describe how these experiences shaped your identity journey.
