Reading Response: The Masque of the Red Death/The Tell-Tale Heart
- For this reading response:
1) Read and annotate two short stories: “The Masque of the Red Death” and “The Tell-Tale Heart” by Edgar Allan Poe (1809-1849).
2) Choose one story for this response. In the Reading Response Template located in the Course Resources module, write a few sentences briefly summarizing the plot, note the theme(s), and state the tone(s).
3) Below the plot, tone(s), and theme(s), write a separate analytical response that identifies one symbol in one of the stories that relates to a person’s fears or desires or any aspect of their psychology.
