This essay will be a minimum of four complete pages with a minimum of two
reliable sources, plus a Works Cited page.
Youll write an essay on one of the following topics:

a legacy you would like to leave in the world.
Your career choice. This essay must include a personal interview with an expert on your topic as well as at least one more reliable print or electronic source.
A group of people that you would like to better understand with
members who are significantly different from you.

Youll research elements of your topic idea and write a focused essay on your
subject.
Introduction: Your first paragraph will include a researched and cited attention-
grabber followed by a general introduction to your main point (thesis). The
thesis will be a clear, arguable opinion that also expresses the focus of your
essay.

Body paragraphs: Each body paragraph will begin with an opinionated
topic sentence that expresses one point you wish to prove and support in that
paragraph. The majority of the sentences will be your own ideas supporting the topic
sentence. Within those sentences, you will quote at least once from a source
and paraphrase at least once from a source. The first time you use a source,
you must introduce it before quoting or paraphrasing it. EACH AND EVERY
SENTENCE THAT HAS QUOTED OR PARAPHRASED INFORMATION
FROM A SOURCE MUST INCLUDE A CITATION! You will need to comment
on each quote and each paraphrase.
Finally, you will conclude the paragraph with your own final point, and
smoothly transition to the next paragraph. Conclusion: Your conclusion will
wrap up the essay, stress your thesis without repeating it, and include a final,
memorable, interesting researched and cited quote or paraphrase.

You will use MLA documentation format for your in-text citations and for the Works
