Assignment overview In this assignment, you will write a discussion paper that expounds and justifies the Career Education and Development (CED) program that you designed for your chosen cohort in Assignment 1: Program proposal Presentation. You will also develop and submit an original CED program overview designed for a specific cohort in your context, as well as one sample lesson plan from this program. You will use GenAI to support the development of your program. This assignment supports unit learning outcomes 1, 2, 3 and 4. Assignment details This assignment has two elements: * Part A: Discussion paper * Part B: Program overview and lesson plan. In Part A, you will explain the choices you have made for your program and why you have made these choices. In Part B, you will provide an overview of the actual program and a sample lesson plan from the program. You will include a brief rationale within the program overview for Part B. Part A: Discussion paper (2000 words) Write a discussion paper that outlines the CED program you have designed for a specific cohort. Discuss key elements of this program including the following: * curriculum framework * theoretical underpinnings and learning approach * teaching content (inclusive of topics, strategies, activities and resources. * assessment and evaluation strategy (use the Assessment and evaluation planning template (DOCX 38 KB) you developed in 6.5 Activity: Program assessment and evaluation to assist you with this element). Your discussion paper must be based on and make reference to empirical research. It should include subheadings and be written in the third person. Note: The APA7 guidelines (2020, p.47) say “Because the first paragraphs of a paper are understood to be introductory, the heading ‘Introduction’ is not needed. Do not begin a paper with an ‘Introduction’ heading; the paper title at the top of the first page acts as a de facto Level 1 heading” As with Assignment 1: Program proposal Presentation you must include your organisations mission/goals/values for the marker’s reference. Part B: Program overview and lesson plan (1000 words) In Part B you need to include two major elements: 1. Program overview: an overview of the CED program you have created for a specific cohort in your context. (An overview only is required. This will not have all of the detail of a full program). Lesson plan: one fully developed sample lesson/session plan as representative of those you would deliver within this program.
