Discussion 4-Compentency

Chapter 5 – Competency mentions several brief examples of clients, please consider the following questions:

How might the professional talk about the challenges with the elder client wanting to live independently when some caregivers and professionals oppose this choice?
The analysis of Michele’s situation concluded that she was competent to refuse treatment and that it would not be justifiable to force her to undergo the new procedure. Do you agree? Under what other circumstances would it be morally acceptable to do so?
