The primary purpose of this Discussion–and all Discussion #4’s–is to apply what you have learned about developing and improving your own piece of writing as you read the complete draft of one of your colleagues and offer thoughtful advice for final editing.
- So, for this Discussion, update your draft for Discussion 1.3 based on peer and instructor responses and your work with sentence and paragraph style.
- Post your updated draft as your reply.
- Then, read the updated draft of one of your colleagues, preferably a draft that has no other reader’s comments yet. That will help us ensure that everyone’s draft gets read.
- Finally, reply to your peer reader about their suggestion or advice and why and how you will use it to improve your draft–or not. Your “why not” may be because you have a different primary audience/reader, purpose, or tone in mind.
NOTE: Points for this Discussion are based on changes to your own draft based on responses in Discussion 1.3 and on your thoughtful reading and response to your colleague’s draft, applying the expert knowledge you are developing in the course so far.
